FOSTER CARE

Foster care is the term used for a system in which a minor who has been made a ward is placed in the private home of a state certified caregiver referred to as a "foster parent".

ADOPTION

Adoption is a permanent lifelong commitment to a child.

TRANSITIONAL LIVING PROGRAM

Assists homeless young people in gaining self-esteem and learning the skills necessary to become self-sufficient and live independently.

CHILD SERVICES

MFS Child Care Program is a statewide system designed by Texas to deliver child care services under a federally-funded grant program.

ASSESSMENT

Assessments aid decision-making on child safety, permanency, and well-being for children and families, from early identification of child and family challenges to report or referral for services, service delivery, and case closure.
